What exactly is the Love This Moment Challenge?
The Challenge is to transform the lives of 1,000 families living in poverty by living an awesome life!
You see it's purpose is to not only play a role in ending world poverty, but to do so through living the life of our dreams - because it can be easy to get caught up thinking we have to sacrifice something in order to give to others, when in actual fact it really is possible to create more for everyone, including ourselves!
How are lives transformed?
There are two completely different ways you can take part in the Challenge:
- Either by giving the beautiful Love This Moment Gift Book;
- Or by coming along for an amazing Love This Moment Antarctic Adventure!
Both ways contribute to Opportunity International's India program, which gives people living on less than $2/day a microloan to start or grow their own business, which allows them to become self-sustainable, taking themselves and their family out of poverty, permanently.
The really cool thing is 97% of loans are paid back and lent out again and again - on average 3 times in 10 years - so all contributions go on and on making a difference!
So while we're aiming to empower 1,000 families to transform their lives, over time the number of families who've been able to take themselves out of poverty will just keep on growing...isn't that fantastic!
Why the Love This Moment Gift Book and an Antarctic Adventure?
As the purpose of this Challenge is to transform the lives of people living in poverty by living a life we love, we decided to use two distinct things that embody this principle to raise funds for Opportunity International.
The Love This Moment Gift Book is a reminder to see the beauty that exists in our lives right now and love what is right now, because the only time we actually can be happy is now.
We've seen and heard of many people for whom the story of 'Love This Moment' has brought tears to their eyes, so we know just what a strong impact this simple book can have.
What better way to raise funds to transform lives than for people to give their loved ones a book that may transform their life?
As for the Antarctic Adventure, traveling to Antarctica is one of the greatest dreams of Challenge creator Lisa Frost. For many years she's had a burning desire to experience Antarctica, and it was in fact this desire that triggered her to create this Challenge.
The Antarctic Adventure is Lisa's way of proving that you can in fact have a greater positive impact on the life of others when you're being true to yourself and living the life of your dreams.
Who is Opportunity International?
Opportunity International is a non-profit organisation which uses a business approach to solve the problem of poverty. Rather than a hand-out, they provide people living in poverty with access to microfinance services, including small loans, savings accounts, insurance and business training, to help them start or grow their own small business.
As each business grows, loans are paid back and lent out again. With 97% of loans repaid, the cycle of help continues, year after year. Each successful business feeds a family, employs more people and eventually helps to empower and transform an entire community, so creating a sustainable solution to poverty.
Why Opportunity International?
Our vision is a world full of people who love their life. A world where every human being on this planet lives an abundant life in all areas of their life.
Obviously part of the mission to realising this vision is to contribute to people living in poverty, empowering them and providing the means for them to create the life they want.
We did a lot of investigation into various charities and non-profit organisations prior to choosing to support Opportunity International. We were looking for an organisation who didn't just "give a man a fish" but "taught a man to fish".
We were looking for someone who had a long term solution to poverty. A solution of dignity and empowerment. A solution that gives people in poverty opportunities they never had before.
We found all this and more in Opportunity International, and have been so inspired by their work that the creator of the Challenge, Lisa Frost, has chosen to become an Opportunity International Ambassador, and we at Love This Moment have created a goal to raise $1 million for Opportunity International...so this is just the beginning!
Visit Opportunity International and find out more about the fantastic work they do transforming the lives of people living in poverty.
Who or what is Love This Moment?
Fundamentally, Love This Moment is a principal of life.
When you get right down to it, Love This Moment is the simplest - and quite possibly the only - way in which to live a life you love, because when you really look at it, regardless of what is or isn't happening, what you are or aren't doing, when you are living a life you love you always are Loving This Moment!
Love This Moment is also a beautiful gift book created by Lisa Frost to allow us to remember and live this principal. This book, along with the Antarctic Adventure, are how we're raising money to help transform the lives of people living in poverty.
And finally, Love This Moment Inspirations Pty Ltd (most often simply referred to as Love This Moment) is the company founded by Lisa Frost to share all of her inspirational and powerful messages with the world.

Who is Lisa Frost?
Lisa Frost is the owner of Love This Moment Inspirations Pty Ltd, the writer, photographer and publisher of the Love This Moment Gift Book, and the creator of this Challenge (she's been a busy girl!)
For a more formal intro, this is from the Love This Moment Gift Book...
Lisa Frost is a self-taught photographer who strives to capture the beauty and wonder of the world in a way that is both spectacular and completely genuine.
She grew up always wanting to be a writer, which doesn't quite explain why she went and got an Information Technology degree. Temporary insanity perhaps, though she felt more life experience was needed first.
To this end she has worked for governments and multi-national corporations, sold kitchenware, managed a warehouse and printed many photographs in a digital lab. She has also traveled extensively throughout Australia and the world, though still has an ever-growing list of places she'd love to explore. It's one of her dreams to experience the frozen wild of Antarctica.
Lisa combines her writing and photography to create messages that reconnect people with life. Her happy outlook and simple love of life shine through everything she does. She lives in the beautiful hinterland of the Gold Coast, Australia.
